Cool Tools

When I need to quickly try and compress images, try different format transformations, and notice live whether I am killing the quality, I use https://squoosh.app

When I want to convert files on the go I use https://vert.sh/ (as opposed to ffmpeg, imagemagick, pandoc when I’m on the computer). It might be cool to set things up like DHH does sometimes where the browser page is accessible from the desktop “like an app”. Since code runs client-side it could even be served locally.

I run Omakub in my computer.

When I feel like making something playful, I use Pico-8; I hope to grow into Picotron eventually.

When I buy games, I am now a firm proponent of Good Old Games.

I used to take notes with Emacs org-mode; I’m now taking notes with Obsidian. Obsidian is prettier and the experience of the mobile app synchronized with the desktop app changed my life a little.

I’m using nvim with lazyvim lately, too. I love emacs, and I’m giving myself the chance to love more.

I’m splurging and making my preferred process display tool btop everywhere I care to look at resources.
